The Kenosha Junior Woman's Club (KJWC) is a non-profit organization formed in 1929 when the daughters of the Kenosha Woman's Club members decided that they wanted a club of their own to enrich the lives of the community. The Woman's Club helped these young women start a club initially named, "Our Daughters." A few years later, the name wa changed to the "Kenosha Junior Woman's Club." Over the years, the KJWC has contributed vastly to the community. In 1973, our club initiated Mobile Meals, recruiting and training volunteer drivers. "Meals on Wheels" is now run by the Kenosha Area Family & Aging Services. In 1975, KJWC started a Citizenship award program for children at the elementary school level and Scholarship awards for local graduating high school seniors. These and many other community projects continue to thrive and improve the quality of life for many.
Until 1992, KJWC put on productions named "Follies," rivaling many a Broadway show, and entertained thousands while raising much needed monies for local charities. It was a great deal of work, but hte benefits far exceeded the exhausting performances - complete with "kick lines!" In 1993, KJWC replaced the "Follies" with the "Taste of Elegance" food and wine fair, followed in 2009 by "Puttin' on the Ritz," which, along with other fundraisers, continued our tradition of supporting local charities and scholarships.
There is much more to tell you about our rich history of community servies. We invite you to join us as we continue to make a difference, and have a lot of fun along the way!
We are members of the General Federation of Woman's Club (GFWC) established in 1890. The GFWC is an international organization with over 10 million members in 30 countries. Over the years, the GFWC has grown into one of the largest organizations of volunteer women nationwide with the motto of "Unity in Diversity."

National Junior Pledge
I pledge my loyalty to the Junior Club Women by doing better than ever before the work I have to do. By being prompt, honest, and courteous. By living each day trying to accomplish something, not merely to exist.
Club Collect (By Mary Stewart)
Keep us, oh God, from pettiness; let us be large in thought, in word, in deed. Let us be done with fault-finding and leave off self-seeking. May we put away all pretense and meet each other face to face without self-pity and without prejudice. May we never be hasty in judgment and always generous. Let us take time for all things; make us to grow calm, serene, gentle. Teach us to put into action our better impulses, straight forward and unafraid. Grant that we may realize it is the little things that create differences, that in the big things in life we are one. And may we strive to touch and to know the great common human heart of us all; and, oh Lord God, let us forget not to be kind!
